Road-Widening Provides Safer Travel and Needed
Evacuation Route

The first phase of a major improvement planned for US-192 / SR-500 in
Brevard County kicked off with an appearance by Florida Governor Jeb
Bush, who praised state and local officials for pushing the needed
project through. About 35 miles of US-192, from Melbourne to St. Cloud
in Central Florida, will be four-laned to make travel safer and provide
a crucial hurricane evacuation route.
The Vecellio Group's Ranger Construction is
prosecuting the first contract on the project, covering approximately 10
miles of roadway from I-95 west to the Osceola County line. The $24.3
million project includes reconstructing the existing lanes and adding a
new lane in each direction.
Port St. Lucie
Job On The Right ‘Track’

Ranger is rebuilding a portion of Airoso Blvd. in Port St. Lucie, FL using
the "train method" of construction to minimize disruption to local traffic,
while still completing the project on schedule.
The project consists of a total of three miles of road work, but crews will
work on only a limited section at a time, completing the work before moving on
to the next section. Although the job was not specified or bid that way,
Ranger proposed the method to ease inconvenience to the area’s residents.
The $10.4 million contract calls for the entire project to be completed
within 18 months.
Ranger has completed extensive improvements
to SR-806 (Atlantic Blvd.) in Delray Beach, FL from
King’s Point to the Florida Turnpike interchange.
