Ranger North has been doing a great job securing new FDOT contracts, with several large projects awarded recently.

Ranger has been selected for improvements to a four-lane, 2.75-mile section of US-27 in Clermont, FL. The $25.5 million, 800-day contract calls for widening the roadway to six lanes and includes replacing four spans.

Another road-widening project was awarded in Lake County. Ranger will widen 3.5 miles of US-27 just north of Polk County from four to six lanes under a $21 million, 650-day contract.  The project involves significant excavation and drainage work, as well.

In other new work, Ranger Central was awarded a $3 million contract to mill and resurface a segment of SR-714. The 160-day contract includes signalization, drainage improvements and curb and sidewalk improvements, commencing in May 2006.

Ranger Central was also selected to make improvements on SR-500 under an 80-day contract beginning in January 2006.

Indian River County has contracted with Ranger to provide drainage improvements and roadway reconstruction on 41st Street in Vero Beach, FL.  The contract is for $7.9 million, with an anticipated start date of November 2005.

Ranger Adds "Juice" To Complete Citrus Plant Work
(3rd Quarter 2005)

Florida’s summer rains put the squeeze on many job schedules, but resourceful management techniques at Ranger Construction kept progress flowing on work with the most critical deadlines.

One example is in Indiantown, FL, where severe weather held up site development for new facilities at Louis Dreyfus Citrus S.A., a major orange juice processing plant. To make up for delays and increase daily production, Ranger added a subcontractor, Royal Palm Development.

The concentrated effort paid off. Two finish grading crews — and a bit of sunshine — put the project back on schedule. Ranger expects to finish the juice plant’s critical areas this fall, while the remaining site work is scheduled for completion after January 2006.
