Ranger North Begins US-27 Improvements Totaling $47 Million In Lake County
(1st/2nd Quarter 2006)

This spring, Ranger Construction's North Division, based in Winter Garden, FL, began work on two FDOT contracts to convert sections of US-27 into urban highway.

The work, totaling over $47 million, involves widening the road from four to six lanes, adding curb and gutter, and replacing two bridges.

The reconstruction will allow Clermont and Four Corners to better handle the growth that has resulted from the nearby Disney parks.

Other new FDOT contracts in the region include a mill-and-resurface project for 5.8 miles of SR-50 (Colonial Drive) in Orange County. The $5 million project will require nearly 35,000 tons of asphalt, resulting in a much improved surface for drivers.

Ranger also recently received a $2.8 million, 90-day contract to mill and resurface 2.52 miles of SR-419 (Chuluota Road) in Seminole County.

Ranger Central Demonstrates Fine Art Of Paving In West Palm Beach

As the Olive Avenue reconstruction project in downtown West Palm Beach comes to a close, Ranger Central can take pride in having completed one of the most complex paving jobs in its history.

Ranger was the asphalt subcontractor for the project, which called for the complete reconstruction of a one-mile section through the heart of the city.

Ranger had to perform within a very narrow area, detouring heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic, while paving around manholes, curbs, gutters, raised brick walkways, tight spaces, and the presence of other subcontractors on the job.

Despite the difficulties, the crew completed all work well ahead of schedule. Ranger Project Manager Michael Correa had nothing but praise for the team. “The quality and professionalism of our paving crews, the foremen and other coordinators made a very important difference in overcoming the project’s challenges.”

Ranger’s work accounted for approximately $940,000 of the overall $7.7 million roadway improvement contract.
