Resurfacing Contract Tops New Work At
Ranger Central
(3rd Quarter 2006)
Ranger Central has been awarded the annual contract for improving
roadways in Palm Beach County for the fourth year in a row. From
November 2006 through October
2007, Ranger will mill and resurface numerous roadways
throughout the county. The contract value is more than $4 million
and will require about 60,000 tons of asphalt.
Ranger Central also has two contracts with the North Palm Beach
County Improvement District. One job includes $1.4 million of
improvements to the intersections at Pratt Whitney and Indiantown
Roads, while the other, valued at $5.2 million, includes
reconstructing and realigning a severe curve on Indiancreek Drive.
Recently completed projects include asphalt resurfacing projects for
the towns of Palm Beach and Ocean Ridge, finished in October.
Ranger Central also has a number of private sector contracts
underway, including improvements to the intersection at Gateway
Blvd. and Congress Ave. for the Sembler Company. In addition to
milling and resurfacing, Ranger will add lanes and drainage.
In July Ranger started a 14-month job to widen over a mile of PGA
Blvd. from two to four lanes in Palm Beach Gardens. Ranger is doing
a total reconstruction, complete with placement of a grassy median
and striping. The project team is striving to keep local homeowners
informed about construction changes at least two weeks in advance.
Ranger has contracted with developer Taylor Woodrow for the project.
In the new Versailles subdivision in Palm Beach County, Ranger was
selected by Transeastern to correct an issue with the first lift
(layer) of asphalt placed by another contractor. Ranger’s project
team worked closely with the developer’s engineer to identify, mill
and repave the areas. Ranger then placed a uniform second lift,
creating a smooth surface layer that aligned properly with the
gutters.
In the Mizner subdivision, Ranger resurfaced the parking lot and
roadways for a golf house, resurfaced portions of Polo Rd. West and
Polo Club Rd., and created an east entry into the
subdivision.
Ranger also earned kudos for resurfacing and striping the main roads
and numerous parking lots in both the Jupiter Ocean & Racquet Club
and the Jupiter One residential developments in Jupiter.
Careful coordination and communication with all of the homeowners,
conducted through the property manager, helped carry these jobs off
with a minimum of inconvenience, earning praise from the
communities.
