Linda Figg, President and CEO of Figg Engineering
Group (FIGG), is delivering this year’s Vecellio Lecture, held
annually at Virginia Tech. FIGG is a family of companies that
specializes in creating world-class, award-winning bridges.
Ms. Figg serves on the Board of Directors of the Construction
Industry Round Table and the American Road & Transportation
Builders Association, as well as the American Segmental Bridge
Institute.
The lecture series is sponsored by an endowment from the
Vecellio Family Foundation and individual family members in
support of the Vecellio Construction Engineering and Management
Program in Virginia Tech’s Via Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering.
Several Vecellios have graduated from Virginia Tech, including
the late Leo Vecellio, Sr. (class of 1938), Leo Vecellio, Jr.
(1968) and Michael Vecellio (2001).
In addition to the lecture series, the Vecellio endowment
supports scholarships, fellowships and a full professorship at
the school.
