High among the alpine meadows along Lake Coeur D’Alene in Northwest Idaho, Ranger Golf is literally carving out what may become one of the world’s most renowned golf courses.
Working with celebrated designer Tom Fazio, Ranger is drilling and blasting through solid rock to create the course, which is located at the Gozzer Ranch Golf & Lake Club in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.
The gated community and member-owned golf club is being developed by San Francisco-based Discovery Land Company.
“Discovery Land Company has an excellent reputation for preserving the character of the land and creating one-of-a-kind communities and golf courses,” said Ranger Golf Vice President Jade Work. “Gozzer Ranch is an exciting challenge, allowing us to showcase Ranger Golf’s world-class workmanship.”
Fazio said the location is the best natural golf course site on which he has ever worked. After a July start, Ranger has completed two holes, installed drainage on four irrigation systems, and rough-shaped five additional holes.
“We’re making as much progress as we can before winter sets in,” noted Work. “We are right on target for our June 2006 completion date.”
