A Vecellio Group Company

We’re Part Of The Vecellio Group, One Of America’s Top 400 Contractors & Top 50 In Transportation Construction

Ranger’s many decades in business are exceeded by its fourth-generation-owned parent company, the Vecellio Group.

Founded in 1938 by Enrico Vecellio, a successful transportation contractor in West Virginia, his son, Leo A. Vecellio (Sr.), and son-in-law, Eugene Grogan, the company began a long tradition of excellence operating as Vecellio & Grogan.

Over the years the company developed its reputation for successfully completing even the most difficult of roadbuilding projects throughout the mid-Atlantic region, where the tough rock and mountainous terrain presented many challenging conditions.

In the 1970s, Leo A. Vecellio, Jr., joined the company and guided the expansion into other markets and areas, particularly the southeastern United States. Today, heavy/highway contracting is just one aspect of the Vecellio Group’s business interests. Operations include mining and energy divisions, as well. In addition to Ranger Construction, the Group includes Vecellio & Grogan, Sharpe Bros., White Rock Quarries, and Vecenergy.

Leo and Kathryn Vecellio’s two sons, Christopher and Michael, joined the company in 2002 and represent the fourth generation of family-owned and operated leadership.
