Major General Ronald L. Johnson, Deputy Chief of Engineers and Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, delivered this year’s Vecellio Lecture.
The Corps of Engineers provides engineering and environmental services to the nation.
The lecture series is sponsored by an endowment from the Vecellio Family Foundation and individual family members in support of the Vecellio Construction Engineering and Management Program in Virginia Tech’s Via Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Several Vecellios have graduated from Virginia Tech, including the late Leo Vecellio, Sr. (1938), Leo Vecellio, Jr. (1968) and Michael Vecellio (2001).
In addition to the lecture series, the Vecellio endowment supports scholarships, fellowships and a full professorship at the school.
