Ranger Back In Action On US-27, This Time In Polk County, FL

US-27 has been good to Ranger Construction — and vice versa. The North Division returns to the roadway where it won a “Best In Construction” award from the Florida Transportation Builders Association four years ago for improvements in Lake County, FL, this time to widen 2.75 miles in Polk County.

Under an $8.7 million stimulus-funded contract bringing a two-lane segment up to four, Ranger is rebuilding the intersection at Dundee Road, reconstructing three-quarters of a mile to the north and adding lanes for two miles to the south. The existing southern portion will be milled, sealed with a rubberized layer, topped with crushed stone, then receive Superpave asphalt pavement and a Friction Course.

Ranger North also recently landed Volusia County’s annual road resurfacing contract, valued at $2.66 million.
