FDOT contracts for upgrades to 33 miles of Florida’s Turnpike (SR-91) in Palm Beach and Martin counties are among Ranger Central’s numerous ongoing projects. The division is milling, resurfacing and making safety improvements to 13 miles of turnpike in Palm Beach County under a $15.58 million agreement and 20 miles in Martin County under two contracts worth $20.08 million.

Although the project teams are challenged with heavy traffic volumes and night work, they are making excellent progress. In fact, the first phase of work in Martin County will be completed three months early. The work in both counties will be wrapped up by late spring next year.

The contract has placed Ranger Central at the forefront of technology; portions of the job will use the PaveSmart grade control system, a computerized system that accurately controls milling and automates the paving. The advanced technology helps crews produce a more consistent product with a smoother riding surface.
