Work is progressing well on the I-4/S.R. 472 interchange project in Deltona, Florida.

Ranger North crews are upgrading the existing I-4 exit and extending it to connect to nearby Howland Boulevard.

The project includes reconfiguring the exit ramps, modifying the existing bridge, and constructing a new two-lane bridge.

The job was begun in August 1999 and has a completion date of December 1, 2000. The project is ahead of schedule and is expected to finish in October.

The $5.7 million project includes water and sewer utilities. Volusia County is providing the funding, with Florida DOT overseeing construction. The bridge work is being performed by a subcontractor, Leware Construction.

Grading on the new exits took place earlier this year.
