State Awards Ranger Contract To Upgrade 1.5 Miles of SR-806 (West Atlantic Ave.) In Delray Beach

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has awarded a $2.35 million contract to West Palm Beach-based Ranger Construction Industries, Inc. to resurface approximately 1.5 miles of West Atlantic Avenue (SR 806) in Delray Beach.

The contract includes slightly widening the lanes, adding shoulders, curbs and sidewalks on each side of the road, and making improvements to the bridge over Canal E-2E.

The roadwork will begin just west of Florida’s Turnpike and continue east to the entrance of King’s Point. Construction is scheduled to begin August 1 and will be finished within a year. It will involve lane closures and occasional night work.

Ranger Construction, a major Florida roadbuilding and asphalt contractor, is part of The Vecellio Group (www.vecelliogroup.com), a 62-year-old family of contracting firms that consistently ranks in the top half of Engineering News-Record’s Top 400 Contractors.
